Alupheli is a seasoned private equity investment professional with two decades’ experience in financial services, the bulk of which is in private markets investing. She offers deep financial acumen, sound governance principles and strategic insights through her active involvement in Kamva’s portfolio companies. Until 2020, Alupheli held senior roles in mid-market private equity firms including that of Principal at JSE listed African Phoenix Investments Limited where she co-founded its Black Fund Manager / GP named API Capital (Pty) Ltd. Prior, Alupheli was with Senatla Capital in the capacity of Senior Associate which was preceded by her role of Senior Dealmaker at the IDC where she earned service excellence accolades in her deal making capacity.

Alupheli’s capacity as experienced finance professional and trusted advisor sees her serve as an independent director on a number of company boards including that of JSE listed Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited, Metair Investments Limited and Altron Limited. Alupheli serves on the investment committees of AIH Capital Fund I and Kleoss Capital Fund II. Alupheli is also a steering committee member of Rally to Read, an organisation which aligns with her passion for literacy enhancement and education access.

Alupheli previously served on the boards of Mpact Polymers and Radisson Blu (Port Elizabeth). She was the audit committee Chairperson of the Companies Tribunal of South Africa from 2012 to 2015. Alupheli began her career with EY where she qualified as a CA(SA) in 2008. This career chapter set the path for her to establish her own accounting and audit practice Kamva Advisory. After three years in this venture, she then pursued her passion for private markets investing.
