Alupheli is a seasoned private equity investment executive with two decades’ experience in financial services. Alupheli oversees Kamva’s operations, strategic partnerships and investments, including investee company engagements to drive strategy and value creation. Alupheli offers deep financial acumen, sound governance principles and strategic insights through her active involvement in Kamva’s portfolio companies.
Prior to establishing Kamva, Alupheli held senior roles in mid-market private equity firms including that of Principal at previously JSE listed African Phoenix Investments Limited where she co-founded its Black Fund Manager and GP named API Capital (Pty) Ltd. Prior, Alupheli was with Senatla Capital in the capacity of Senior Associate which was preceded by her role of Senior Dealmaker at the IDC. Alupheli began her career at EY as audit trainee in the Retail & Consumer Products sector.
Alupheli is an experienced director serving as independent director on a number of company boards including that of JSE listed Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited, Metair Investments Limited and previously Altron Limited and its subsidiary Netstar. Alupheli is an independent investment committee member of AIH Capital Fund I and Kleoss Capital Fund II, both mid-market private equity funds.
Alupheli is passionate about literacy enhancement and STEM education access as catalysts for improved employment pathways for South Africa’s youth. She is a board member of READ, South Africa’s oldest literacy advocacy organisation and trustee of the Altron Foundation, an ICT education-focused bursary organisation.
